  • ErUM-Data Workshop on Inverse Problems

    23 - 23 December 0006

    Dresden, Germany

ErUM-Data Workshop on Inverse Problems https://pan-training.eu/events/deep-learning-train-the-trainer-workshop-32c8d09d-c5c3-45f7-97c8-d4932fa23d26 This is the third Basic Deep Learning Train-the-Trainer Workshop organized by DIG-UM with support from the ErUM-Data-Hub. Aim of this workshop is to educate lecturers for future teaching activities and to provide material to give lecture series on deep learning, including hands-on-exercises. This workshop is addressed to scientists from all ErUM communities with prior knowledge of neural networks with an academic level of postdoc or higher. All attendees should be willing to give in the future deep learning lectures at schools and workshops. 0005-12-23 09:00:00 UTC 0006-12-23 00:00:00 UTC ErUM-Data-Hub (BMBF) Dresden, Germany Dresden Germany [] [] [] 30 workshops_and_courses [] Deep Learning Train-the-Trainer
  • Magnetic Structure Determination from Neutron Diffraction Data (MagStr)

    3 - 7 October 2022

Oak Ridge, United States of America

Magnetic Structure Determination from Neutron Diffraction Data (MagStr) https://pan-training.eu/events/magnetic-structure-determination-from-neutron-diffraction-data-magstr The school will provide hands-on training and lectures on how to determine magnetic structures from powder and single-crystal neutron data. The techniques and theory of representational analysis and magnetic space groups will be introduced by leading experts and demonstrated in a series of hands-on examples. The format will follow past workshops. But this year it is back to in-person student attendance! Lectures and hands-on tutorial sessions will cover: 1. Symmetry analysis using representation theory and the SARAh program and ISOTROPY Suite 2. Magnetic space groups using the Bilbao Crystallographic Server 3. Refinement strategies using the FullProf Suite, GSAS-II and Jana 4. Magnetic structure determination from powder and single-crystal data The school is intended for graduate students, postdocs, and research scientists who have a working knowledge of crystallographic refinement and will benefit from incorporating the techniques of magnetic structure determination from neutron diffraction into their research. 2022-10-03 09:00:00 UTC 2022-10-07 17:00:00 UTC Third Street, Oak Ridge, United States of America Third Street Oak Ridge Roane County United States of America neutron diffraction Oak Ridge National Laboratory Stuart Calder (caldersa@ornl.gov) Ovidiu Garlea (garleao@ornl.gov) Huibo Cao (caoh@ornl.gov) Clarina dela Cruz (delacruzcr@ornl.gov) [] graduate studentspostdocsresearch scientists workshops_and_courses [] neutronORNL
  • ExPaNDS Closing Event

    23 - 24 January 2023

    Hamburg, Germany

ExPaNDS Closing Event https://pan-training.eu/events/expands-closing-event We are glad to announce the ExPaNDS closing event, to be held in Hamburg on 23rd to 24th January 2023. For those who may not join in person, there will be the chance to attend remotely. Our final event for ExPaNDS aims to present the opportunity to follow a user story showcasing the major results achieved during the length of the project. Our project contributors will gather to discuss and show case use cases, platforms, FAIR principles and options for the future with a view to sustainability of the tools, software and services developed to make data findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable (FAIR) across European Photon and Neutron (PaN) facilities, working towards the implementation of a PaN Data Commons to further contribute to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). Furthermore, we will also have invited talks by renown scientists high-lighting the continued importance of #Opendataforopenscience. A hybrid option for both the internal and public sessions will be available. We hope to be able to collect feedback and expectations of PaN scientists on their view on the future of FAIR and open data principles. We also look forward to hearing the latest news on the [DAPHNE4NFDI](https://www.daphne4nfdi.de/) project from our colleagues involved in this grant. 2023-01-23 12:00:00 UTC 2023-01-24 17:00:00 UTC Blomkamp, Hamburg, Germany Blomkamp Hamburg Germany 22607 DESY [] PaN Communitydata managersresearch data scientist meetings_and_conferences [] expandsPhoton scienceneutron researchFAIREOSC
