Content:
Many teaching problems are too specific for commercial software and too small to justify a formal development project. A lecturer may want a simple simulator, an interactive diagram, a decision tool or a small application that helps one particular group of students explore one particular idea.

Until recently, this usually meant involving a programmer, finding a budget or abandoning the idea. Generative AI has made a different kind of software possible: small, temporary and highly tailored applications created through conversation rather than conventional coding.

This approach is often described as vibe coding. The lecturer explains what an application should do, tests the result and asks the AI to revise it. The code may remain largely invisible. What matters is the ability to describe the teaching problem clearly, recognise whether the proposed solution is useful and continue refining it until it works.
