Creating presentations with generative AI

Many years ago, the introduction of presentation software automated the dullest parts of the job: creating templates, styles, transitions and the occasional chart. Generative AI now reaches much further into the process. A lecturer (and a student) can begin with a broad topic, ask for background research, turn that research into a slide sequence, generate speaker notes and download a finished PowerPoint. These tools are getting better at their job every day, forever transforming what it means to deliver a presentation in their wake.
