It is a fact that nature and sports tourism as an alternative to sun and beach tourism is
increasingly a booming sector helped by the sensitivity to practice sustainable tourism
disclosed by AGENDA 2030 and the need to conserve space. Under these precepts, star
tourism is born, a tourism that can only be practiced if light and atmospheric pollution is
avoided. And since it is very recent, it is necessary to study it in all its variants: from
current trends, still very minor, to the ways of making it known among the population.
A journey will be made from the beginnings to the present, the different existing
certifications and the official conditions to become an official destination will be
studied. A national inventory of all resources will be made. Some orographic conditions
of Castilla La Mancha will be specified. A series of hypotheses will be raised and the
profile and results of a survey carried out to refute some ideas that exist around this type
of tourism will be analyzed. Finally, the opinions of a SWOT matrix answered by
professionals from the field of Castilla La Mancha will be presented.
