Video on PaN-Space — The Photon and Neutron Data Management Environment for EOSC
This video introduces PaN-Space, a dedicated user environment developed for the PaNOSC EOSC Node within the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). PaN-Space addresses a critical challenge for photon and neutron (PaN) researchers: services such as data repositories, virtual computing environments and training catalogues have so far operated in silos, with fragmented access, multiple authentication systems and disjointed workflows. PaN-Space integrates these services into a single, coherent interface aligned with the FAIR principles and Open Science. Built on the HELIPORT platform, it provides a central dashboard where users can discover and collect datasets via PaN-Finder, analyse them in virtual research environments (VISA), and share results across disciplines. The video outlines the concept of PaN-Space, demonstrates a science use case covering the full workflow from data search to analysis and cross-disciplinary sharing, and explains how the onboarding of PaN-Space into the PaNOSC Node extends the EOSC Federation with a user-oriented research space for PaNOSC scientists and beyond. PaN-Space is funded by the EOSC Gravity Cascading Inter-Project grant.
