Laser Image Visualization Training

This training provides an introduction for the acceleration of intense ion pulses on a few micrometers to 10 MeV energies is possible when light pulses from a short-pulse laser are focused on thin solid-state targets. In the interaction, the laser energy is primarily transferred to relativistic electrons whose collective fields result in the acceleration of the ions.

During the experiment camera images were taken from various positions. All camera images are taken at the same timestep, labeled with an associated counter position and stored in related directories. The visualization tool laserVizTool shows the selected camera positions for the same counter value. The use a filters on the images is also possible. For the demonstration of the tool a dataset is provided.
