In the photon and neutron (PaN) ecosystem, research data flow through a chain of generation, processing, stewardship, and reuse. Understanding the distinct roles of various stakeholders along this data value stream is critical to implementing effective Research Data Management (RDM) practices and maximizing the benefits of FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) data.

Each group contributes at a different stage of the stream, and their coordination determines the long-term scientific, technological, and industrial value of data produced at large-scale PaN facilities.
