We invite scientists worldwide to submit proposals for general user beamtime experiments at PAL-XFEL (Pohang Accelerator Laboratory – X-ray Free Electron Laser) from January to June 2027. 

PAL-XFEL has three beamlines, two for hard X-ray experiments (XSS: X-ray Scattering and Spectroscopy, NCI: Nano Crystallography and Coherent Imaging) and one for soft X-ray experiments (SSS: Soft X-ray Scattering and Spectroscopy). 

The access to PAL-XFEL is open to the international scientific community, with the requirement that foreign users collaborate with Korean scientists being local contacts. 

Additionally, all applicants must contact PAL-XFEL staff scientists to discuss experimental details before submitting a beamtime proposal. 

There is no fee for proposal submission, but charges will apply when the experiment is conducted, as per government policy.
